A jewelry house founded by two women architects
From space to body
ARKVEIL is a jewelry house founded by two women architects. It selects independent jewelry studios across Asia, today from China and Nepal, and publishes its own editions.
Before jewelry, we worked through rooms, corridors, thresholds and facades, always on the relationship between a body and the space around it. Over time our attention moved closer: from the room to the object, from architecture around the body to structure placed directly on it.
One house. Three perspectives.
I
Our house edit. Each object is named by what it does to the body and released in chapters, not seasons.
II
Independent studios across Asia, selected by ARKVEIL. The object keeps its designer's name; we add ours only as the one who chose it.
III
Works from our founder's studio, published here in limited printings. Artwork by X.C Studio, adjacent to the objects, never among them.
The body as site
We do not begin with decoration. We begin with that question. An earring extends the line of a jaw. A ring interrupts the geometry of a hand. A rigid curve holds a space open against the skin. A small shift in proportion changes a whole silhouette.
Some objects extend. Some fold. Some hold. Some distort. The body is the site; the object is the intervention.
Two cities
One of us came through Los Angeles: open light, long shadows, the quiet geometry of distance. The other through New York: density, friction, bodies constantly negotiating with the city around them. Both of us were trained at the scale of buildings.
ARKVEIL is based in Los Angeles; New York never quite left. The house is where the two ways of seeing meet.
Process
We are not interested in pieces that quote buildings. We are interested in the questions an architect asks of anything: How does a line continue beyond the body? Where does an object touch, hover, compress, or leave space? How does it change from the front, from the side, in motion?
Every piece, ours or a designer's we select, must do something. Extend a line. Shift a proportion. Interrupt a silhouette. Hold space. If it changes nothing, it does not belong.
ARKVEIL Designers
Founded in Beijing in 2023, EUNXY explores nature through simple forms and geometry. Its jewelry brings a sense of softness and resilience to everyday dress.
SPIN TRIBE was founded in 2023. Its inspiration moves between the raw breath of nature and a city of mixed tribes: an experiment in balancing freedom and vitality.
Inspired by nature, GUIJUE uses metal and craft as its design language, translating natural textures into jewelry for contemporary wear.
YOOUJIW treats jewelry as more than ornament: at the scale of the body, it explores how people relate to objects, space and nature, turning ideas of order and freedom into small wearable worlds.
Architecture becomes image. Image becomes silk. Silk takes the body's shape. The city moves when you do.
ARKVEIL Editions publishes authored works, translated into objects to be worn and lived with. Works are released in printings. A first printing cannot be recreated; a work that finds its people may be printed again.
Urban Unfold began as a short film that took New York apart the way film is cut; the drawings that followed became these scarves. Each piece is signed and sealed by hand before it leaves the studio.
Origin
ARKVEIL grows out of a continuing practice across architecture, visual art and object design, recognized internationally for its architecture and design work. It is not an architecture project reduced in scale; it is a separate practice with the body at its center.
The scale changes. The question stays the same: what does the object do to the space around the body?
